On Tuesday, the Federal High Court in Osogbo turned down the bail application of a previous instructor with the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Prof Richard Akindele, hauled under the watchful eye of court for supposedly requesting sex to update the scores of one of his understudies, Monica Osagie. 

The court dismissed the bail application, which Akindele documented through his legal advisor, Francis Omotoso, after the indicting counsel for the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offenses Commission, Kehinde Ayantoye, contradicted the application. In contradicting Akindele's safeguard application, the examiner documented a counter-oath, which was dismissed to by a police analyst, Afolabi Oluwatoyin. In her decision, Justice Maureen Onyetenu said the charges contained in the counter-oath were profound.
